Proverbs 3
One of my favorite aspects of Proverbs is how Wisdom is personified throughout the book. She is a woman with all the answers, one available for all people to know — not hidden away in a tower, not overlooking her neighbors, not waiting around for the rich and powerful to find her. She walks through the streets, greets her neighbors, responds to all her seek her. And those who seek her will be rewarded! Wisdom promises blessings of peace, safety, riches, protection, favor, and honor, among so many others. As Solomon states, Wisdom is invaluable!
Verse 3: “Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.”
Verses 5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
